Starbright
Starbright and moonlight
romance me to sleep
to a land where
dreams become free,
where on gossamer wing
my soul plays in flight
soaring fast over
mountain and sea.
Song of the Moon
Haven't you heard
the song of the moon
When dusk shadows fall
and day turns to night?
The crickets join in
as it carries its tune,
It soars in the eve,
on silver winged flight.
It sings in the mist
as it floats through the air,
The haunting notes telling
a tale old as time.
The night maidens sing us
their melody fair
And harmonies of
sweetest slumber sublime.
In the darkness it falls
on the listening ears,
Singing to souls
between sleep and awake,
That magical place
void of hours or years,
And tells them the secrets
of forest and lake.
As darkness surrenders
to light of dawn's rays,
Moon's melody fine
returns to its home.
Its message turns quiet
in whispers and fades,
'Til night once again
gives it freedom to roam.
Rhythm of Love
Time passes slow like honey
Dripping from the comb, then
Like a lightning flash,
it changes speed.
Making way for days
Barreling quickly past like bulls
Rushing by in a great stampede.
The ocean has its rest
Rocking sleepily to the drum
Of a haunting sailor’s song,
Gradually rising to
A fury of strength and power
Waves crashing mightily along.
We have a rhythm too,
Sometimes sweet
and slow and soft,
a tender love, so kind.
Knowing when to gently tread
To hold, caress and soothe
The fragile heart, soul and mind.
Then changing like the tide
We follow love’s
impassioned call
We touch,
the vibrant flame ignites.
Your heart is where
I am most home
Your touch, my love,
salvation through
the long, dark nights.
Sunset
Sunset falls across
The expanse of horizon
Displaying a brilliant array
Of deep jeweled hues,
With light-hearted pink
Surrounding the clouds
Descending into vibrant purple,
Violet and blues.
The beauty witnessed here
Is striking and bold
Joy exploding,
In the last moments of day,
Melting slowly into
The deep night sky,
Like soft echoes trailing off,
Far and away.
The Cloud
Your storage on cloud
Is about to exceed
The uttermost limit
So if you have need
Your selfies & texts
And instagram feed
Can all rest assured
Of their cyberspace deed
For fifty more acres
VR land bequeathed
Just one doge coin a day
A bargain indeed
Just tap finger once
To say you’ve agreed!
The Journey
The journey ahead
Full of mystery unknown
Beckons me forward
Romancing my heart.
The treasure of secrets
Veiled deep in the distance
Promising to
Reveal and impart,
All myriad wonder
Of love and life lived
Of truth and what is
And what brings us to be,
And waiting ahead
Just beyond the next bend
May contain all the truth
To life’s great mystery.
The unknown adventure
Is calling me on
Intoning a melody
New and yet old,
Like a beautiful siren
Singing her song
Enchanting, and promising
Beauty untold.
Singularity
a sonorous boom preceded it
perhaps why it happened on thursday
the rumble of thor
that sounded before
told a story of origin infinite
the quantum dimensions
of texture and tone
like a celestial quilt
mother nature had sewn
enveloped all
of time’s offspring
with one pivotal
pendulum swing
the center of infinity
disguised in
svelte asymmetry
a volatile pinpoint
of inevitable trigonometry
the universe folded in
surrendering once again
erasing every detail
that had been
and we end
and we begin
“a singularity
is such a rarity”
we proclaim with
amnesiac sincerity,
the magnitude of
our naive oblivion
...absurdity
Night
The amber glow
from light of flame
Dancing softly
on the walls
Has cast its spell
of dreamlike mist
Across my mind,
it calms, enthralls.
As candles flicker
slowly out
The dark of evening
covers me
Like warmest blankets comforting
And bringing rest
from all I see.
What was once in sight
now hides
In night's black shadow, swallowed whole,
And what was hidden,
now is seen
With eyes that light
the heart and soul.
The deepest secrets
are revealed
When thoughts are finally quieted.
When dreams take flight
and soar unbound,
The heart can say
what's left unsaid.
